Holding an Economy in Petals

Tulips are the national flowers of both Turkey and Iran, which have many stories that hold the flowers as their main object. The genus Tulipa, of which the tulips are a part of, contains a number of 109 species. More important, nonetheless, is the fact that these flowers are some of the most loved in the world, because of their perfect shape, which imprints calmness and comfort in the minds of individuals. This is the reason why a tulips bouquet is always a very pleasant surprise, that will be loved and appreciated by anyone.
Initially, tulips were wild flowers that grew in Central Asia. However, it is said that people in Turkey started cultivating them around 1000 AD. Then, they made their way to Europe, as Carolus Clusius, an Austrian biologist, brought them over in the 17th century. After the "introduction" was made, people fell in love with the beautiful flowers and began to grow tulips in their gardens, since they made perfect decorations. This event took a particularly interesting turn in Holland, where their popularity surprised many, for tulips bulbs were sold for prices which were extremely high. Not only that, but people began to create hybrids, some of which ended up costing more than a house in Amsterdam, event that is now knows as the "Tulipmania". Interestingly enough, as the flowers were not rare, their prices fell again, which caused a "Tulip Crash". This caused an intervention from the government that put trading restrictions on the flowers.
There are many tales that have circulated in England about the tulip. One of the legends told that a long, long time ago, a yellow bud of a tulip held the world's entire happiness captive within it, and no one could do anything to open it. However, in a sunny day, a child was taking a walk with his mother in the field, and when seeing the flower, he started laughing and running towards it. This created such an amazing atmosphere around, that the bud opened, releasing the world's happiness in doing so. This is the reason why, to this day, a yellow tulips bouquet represents happiness.
However, there are many other meanings to these beautiful flowers. White tulips express purity, but are often used to mean forgiveness, and many times giving a white tulips bouquet is a very good way of apologizing. Purple tulips, on the other hand, are a reference to both royalty and rebirth, or spring. Finally, the most commonly found kind- the red one- is associated with declarations of love. Many have said that a red tulip represents the heart of a lover, with its very core darkened by the passion and jealousy that only one who is in love can feel.
Not only do tulips have a history behind them, but they have one of the most interesting history among flowers. Love and devotion for these flowers made some people go bankrupt at the end of the "Tulipmania", but their beauty was enough to make them forgive them. With such perfect form and vibrant colors, a tulips bouquet is the best attention one can receive.
