How to Sprout Quinoa?

Learning the technique on how to sprout quinoa requires no special kitchen equipment. You also do not need to be skilled just to make the task successful. Unlike any other seeds, quinoa seeds are small. But despite their size, they are packed with nutrients and the vitamins and nutrients double when you sprout them. This is because the enzymes work well to boost the nutritional value of the vegetable. Since they become soft after the process, you can also eat them raw. Mix the sprouted quinoa with mushroom, lettuce and add olive oil and you get a 100% yummy afternoon snack.
How to Sprout Quinoa?
The technique on how to sprout quinoa is simple. You begin by washing the seeds well. This will only take few minutes; thus, do not take this for granted. Washing is crucial to remove all the dirt in the seed. After this step, soak the rinsed quinoa in water and cover the container with a light cloth. All seeds must be well covered by water to facilitate sprouting.
Wait for 8 to 12 hours or leave them overnight before draining the water. Rinse the seeds again and re-soak them again for another 6 to 8 hours. Repeat the rinsing, draining and soaking process until the sprouts appear. You can sprout the seeds longer but be reminded that the texture changes. If you want your quinoa seeds to be crunchy, do not sprout them too long. ½ inch is good to keep the crispiness of the vegetable.
After the final rinse, drain them well to increase their shelf life. Quinoa sprouts remain fresh if they are completely dry. Store them inside the refrigerator and use them within 2 weeks. But of course, they are still best eaten right after the sprouting process.

Garden salad is one of my feel-good foods. Aside from it is easy to prepare, it boosts your energy. Just mix slices of vegetables like cucumber, carrots, radish, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Add slices of fried tofu or chicken breast and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Eat this with a slice of toasted bread.
Sautéed Quinoa sprouts
If you do not like the idea of eating quinoa seeds raw, you can also cook it. Use the same ingredients as above but this time, sauté it with garlic and onion. Add oyster sauce to add flavor and serve with fish or any meat dishes.
